Buyer's Guide

Specify capacity (common ranges: 4,000–12,000 lbs), platform size, and vertical travel range to match your application. For outdoor use, specify weather-resistant hydraulic fluid and non-slip platform surfaces. Edge-of-dock lifts are a cost-effective alternative to full pit levelers for lower-volume facilities. Consider power supply requirements (single-phase vs. three-phase) and whether a flush-mount or surface-mount installation suits your floor.

Safety/Compliance: Dock lifts must comply with ANSI MH29.1 standards for design and safety. Toe guards, safety legs, and velocity fuses are required safety features. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 (lockout/tagout) applies during maintenance.
