Dock Plates & Boards

Dock plates and dock boards bridge the gap between the dock and trailer for hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts. Dock plates are flat aluminum or steel panels for hand truck and light pallet jack use; dock boards include side curbs and are rated for forklift traffic.

Buyer's Guide

Select based on equipment type — dock plates for hand trucks and manual pallet jacks, dock boards for powered industrial trucks. Key specs: capacity rating, width (match to your equipment), and length (longer boards reduce the ramp angle). Aluminum is lighter and easier to handle; steel handles higher capacities. Always verify the rated capacity exceeds your heaviest loaded forklift. Loop handles or fork pockets make repositioning safer.

Safety/Compliance: OSHA 29 CFR 1910.26 requires dock boards and dock plates to be capable of supporting the maximum load, have securing devices, and be marked with rated capacity. Capacity markings must be visible and legible.
